Glenn E. Sunderman

Glenn E. Sunderman, 96, of Lake Katrine, died Thursday, March 16, 2017 at Northern Duchess Hospital. Born in Huntington, Indiana, he was the son of the late Carl & Elizabeth Gunzenhauser Sunderman, the second child and first son. He was born on a farm. He LOVED it, and the family did not receive electricity until after he graduated from high school. He progressed from that kind of a life to being on Facebook at age 96! Glenn was a retired farmer and truck driver for Huntington Hatchery. He was also a photographer for the Winter Texan Times in Mission, TX for many winter seasons. Glenn enjoyed music, photography, gardening, bird watching and word find puzzles. Glenn is survived by his wife of 72 years, Virginia Lamb Sunderman of Lake Katrine, whom he married on November 19, 1944, a daughter, Bonnie Langston and her husband, Sid Leavitt of Lake Katrine, two grandchildren, Brett & Todd Langston of Ravena, NY. In addition to his parents, Glenn was predeceased by a son, Roger Lee Sunderman, who passed in 1970. Glenn will be reposing at the Simpson-Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave, on Sunday, March 19, 2017 from 2-4 PM. Funeral Service and interment will be held privately. The family requests that memorial donations be made to Ten Broeck Commons, Activities Department, 1 Commons Drive, Lake Katrine, NY 12449 or St. Peter Lutheran Church, 648 North Lafontaine Street, Huntington, IN 46750.
