Gilbert Henry Kraus

Gilbert Henry Kraus, 96, of Kingston, passed peacefully Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at Ten Broeck Commons, Lake Katrine, NY. He was born November 29, 1919 in Kingston, the son of the late Edward A. and the late Elizabeth Roenn Kraus. He was a graduate of Kingston High School and Rider University, Trenton, NJ.


Mr. Kraus started his career working for the 1st National Bank of Atlanta, he moved back to Kingston and was employed as an accountant by Ulster Savings Bank for many years prior to his retirement. Gil was a longtime member of Hidden Harbor Yacht Club.


He is survived by his nieces, Marilyn Holden, Pamela Hobbs, nephews, Michael Aiello, Donald Aiello and Jan Cranston, dear friends, Vladimir and Jacqueline Bukovac of Port Ewen and his many friends at Hidden Harbor Yacht Club.


Entrusted to the care of the Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 216 Broadway, Port Ewen. The family will receive their friends on Sunday from 12 - 2 pm. The service will be Monday at 11 am. Burial to follow at Montrepose Cemetery, Kingston.
