Gertrude Lillian LaRue of Melbourne, Florida died June 19, 2010 in Palm Bay, Florida. She was 93.
She was born in Plattsburgh, a daughter of the late Joseph and Eva Rabideau Myette. A graduate of Plattsburgh High School, she married John LaRue on October 12, 1936.
John and Gertrude retired to Melbourne, Florida in 1960. They founded and operated "Port-O-Call" Airstream Trailer Park, Melbourne, Florida for many years. Mrs. LaRue enjoyed square dancing and traveled extensively.
Her husband, John LaRue, died in 2001. Two sisters Mildred Cordick and Olive Gauthier, one son in law James Brown all died previously.
Surviving are one son James LaRue and his wife Patricia of Saugerties, one daughter Sandra Brown of Palm Bay, Florida, 9 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, 7 great great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews also survive.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Colman's Church, East Kingston. Fr. James Borstelman will officiate. Inurment will be in St. Peter's Cemetery, Plattsburgh at a later date.
