Gertrude Bush

Gertrude “Gerri” A. Bush, 93, of Shady, NY, died on Monday, October 30, 2023, at Golden Hill Nursing & Rehab Center in Kingston. Born in Manhattan on July 30, 1930, she is the daughter of the late Louis and Eva (Weissman) Koenegsburg.  

After marrying the love of her life, Myron, in 1956, Gerri spent her early years as a devoted housewife raising her three children. She later worked for a number of years at Metropolitan Life in Kingston, NY as a claims approver until her retirement.

Gerri was a kind & gentle soul, always happy and carefree. She enjoyed listening to music and challenging puzzle books. Her greatest joy was her family, who she cherished above all else.  In her final years she was welcomed into the loving home of her daughter & son-in-law, Lisa and Ken, who became her constant companions, caregivers and friends. She will be dearly missed.

Survivors include her daughter Lisa E. Keefe & her husband, Kenneth of Shady; her son, Stephan J. Bush of High Falls; her grandchildren Nicholas B. Keefe of Port Ewen, NY; Michael J. Bush & his fiancé, Victoria, of Rifton, NY; Stephen M. Bush & his wife Angel, of Missoula, Montana and 2 great granddaughters, Annalee & Sarah Bush. She is predeceased by her daughter, CarolAnne Adams, and her husband of almost 59 years, Myron E. Bush.

Arrangements entrusted to Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 326 Albany Avenue, Kingston, NY 12401 where family and friends may visit on Monday November 6, 2023 from 4pm to 8pm. The funeral service will be held at 11am on Tuesday November 7, 2023 at the funeral home. Entombment will follow at Wiltwyck Rural Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimer’s Association at www.ALZ.org.
