George O. Mosher, 91, of Kingston, passed away Tuesday, February 10, 2015 surrounded by his family. He was born January 26, 1924 in Kingston to the late Samuel Sr. and Jessie (Moore) Mosher.
After graduating from Kingston High School he joined the US Army where he served with the Amphibious Combat Engineers during the Normandy invasion. George later owned and operated Mosher's Package & Delivery Service in Kingston for over forty years. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially, gardening, hunting, fishing, spending time at his summer home on Rose Mountain in Big Indian, NY, and his love for his animals.
He is survived by his siblings, Joan Quick and Mary DeCicco of Kingston. George had no children but was a father figure to many nieces, nephews, and cousins especially his beloved great niece Jessica Alvarez, nephews and niece, Carlos Melendez, Howard R. "Butch" Quick III, Debra Quick Alvarez, Steven Quick and their families. In addition to his parents he is predeceased by his siblings, Helen Harris & Samuel "Putch" Mosher Jr., and his nephew John Harris.
Entrusted to the care of Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 326 Albany Ave., Kingston, where friends and family may visit on Monday February 16th from 4pm to 6:30pm with the funeral service starting at 6:30pm. Burial will be held in the spring in Hurley Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Ulster County SPCA, 20 Wiedy Road, Kingston, NY 12401. You may leave a condolence for the family at
