George Dale Mine, 88, of the Town of Ulster, NY, passed away on Thursday, December 28, 2023 at Golden Hill Nursing & Rehab Center. He was born on May 25, 1935 in Chicago, Illinois, son of the late Howard B. and Edna (Reuter) Mine. He was married to his beloved wife of 64 years, the late Mary E. Mine, having wed on June 9, 1956 in River Forest, IL.
George attended Oak Park and River Forest High School in IL where he met Mary, and later attended the University of Illinois, and Marist College where he received his BS in Mathematics. He retired as a Senior Engineer at IBM in Kingston, NY, where he worked for 35 years. He was also a Consultant for Zurich-American Insurance Company for 8 years.
He was a longtime member of St. John's Episcopal Church where he served on the Vestry. He was an Officer of the Kingston Junior Chamber of Commerce, and was an Instructor for SUNY Ulster’s Senior Computer Learning Center.
George is survived by three children, Michael (Deborah) Mine of Glenmont, NY, Stephen (Carrie Oliver) Mine of Danforth, ME, and Laurie Psarris (Dave Daniels) of Danville, NH, his grandchildren, Aric (Mara) Mine of Fresno, CA, Jennifer (Michael) Anderson of Delmar, NY, Ryan (Olivia Vetere) Mine of Cumberland, RI, Andrew (Nadine Shahin) Psarris of Hampstead, NH, Katherine Psarris (Ismail Asongwed) of Westford, MA, Elizabeth Psarris of Danville, NH, and his great-grandchildren, Ennis, Finnian and Hudson Mine and Benjamin Anderson.
George enjoyed a long and happy life with his late wife, Mary, and all of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He enjoyed wood-working, gardening and all things computer-related. He was also blessed with wonderful neighbors in the Spring Lake neighborhood where he lived for over 60 years.
Arrangements entrusted to Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, Kingston, NY. Family and friends may visit on Saturday, January 13, 2024 from 10am to 11am at St. John's Episcopal Church, 207 Albany Ave., Kingston, NY 12401. The funeral service will follow at 11am.
