Gay Sammons

Gay Sammons, 66, of Port Ewen, NY, died Friday, May 30, 2008 at Kingston Hospital, Kingston, NY. She was born January 21, 1942 in Kingston, NY. She was the daughter of the late Howard Galbreth and was raised by her step father the late William A. McCabe and her mother the late Harriet Gavit McCabe
She was married to Edwin H. Sammons, Jr.., they were married in Port Ewen on April 6, 1963.

She was a graduate of Kingston High School, class of 1959. Gay was a secretary for IBM Kingston.
After retiring from IBM she worked for Ulster County in the purchasing department. She attended the St. Remy Reformed Church, was a Life member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Port Ewen Fire Department, she had enjoyed playing golf and had been a avid bowler when she was younger.

She is survived by her husband: Edwin H. Sammons, Jr.; Sons, Scott W. Sammons and his wife Jeanne, Port Ewen, NY; Eric H. Sammons and his wife Terri, Port Ewen, NY; Granddaughter, Tiffany J. Sammons, Port Ewen, NY; Brothers, William McCabe, Port Ewen, NY; Edward Galbreth, Ithaca, NY; Sister, Elizabeth Strickland, West Hurley, NY, several nieces and nephews

Entrusted to the care of the Keyser Funeral Service, Inc., 216 Broadway, Port Ewen, where services will be held on Tuesday at 2:00 pm Keyser Funeral Service, Inc Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Port Ewen.

Family will receive their friends Monday, June 2 from 3 - 5 & 7 - 9 at Keyser Funeral Service, Inc., 216 Broadway, Port Ewen, and NY.
