Gary Michael Nauta, 49, of Kingston, formerly of Staten Island, died Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at The Benedictine Hospital, Kingston, NY. He was born September 8, 1961 in Rosebank, Staten Island to Leonard Nauta and the late Antoinette Nauta.




He was married to his loving wife of 27 years Anne (Stewart) Nauta, they wed on February 17th 1984.




Gary graduated from New Dorp High School in Staten Island and then went on to graduate from the New York City School of Locksmithing.




He was known to many area business owners and residents for his dedicated and professional service as a Security Engineer for 21 years with Safeco Alarms in Kingston.




Gary was a parishioner of Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church in Kingston where he was an active volunteer. He was an honorary member of the White Eagle Hall.




He was a sports enthusiast and avid outdoorsmen in which he was a member of the Telemark Ski Club and The Highwoods Sportsmans Club. He had previously coached little league softball and was a cub scout leader for Troop 26. He played in the local Kingston softball and beach volleyball leagues for many years. Gary was an avid golfer and dedicated New York Mets fan.





In addition to his wife and father he is survived by his daughter, Hillary Nauta of Kingston, a son Leonard Nauta and his wife Jennifer of Maryland, a sister Theresa Nauta of Staten Island, a grandson Cameron, as well as a beloved uncle of many nieces and nephews.




Gary is predeceased by his brother Anthony Rhodes.




Entrusted to the care of the Keyser Funeral Service, Inc., 326 Albany Avenue, Kingston, NY 12401.




A mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Immaculate Conception Church on Monday at 10am.




Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Kingston.




Friends may call on Saturday from 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 and on Sunday from 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 at the funeral home.
