Gabriel Antonio Delgado, 54, of Kingston, died Thursday, May 18, 2017 at HealthAlliance Hospital Broadway Campus.
Born in New York City, he was a son of Angela Garcia Delgado of Lyndhurst, NJ and Jose Antonio Delgado. Our precious Gabriel Delgado, Gaby to his family and friends, passed away suddenly on May 18, 2017. Gaby was a talented artist, could imitate voices of celebrities, in conversations from movie scenes, cartoon characters and more. He could draw the best caricatures; my favorite was in a letter he signed and drew a little lamb. He was a devout Christian who enjoyed nothing more than exercising his spiritual muscle, playing the drums for his church band and at street fairs. Gaby was a fan of peace; always seeking it in prayer, community, photos, music, laughter, pictures and connection with family and friends and in communion with Jesus, his Savior. He was always a well-wisher of God's blessings. My brother was a courageous, humble man and an incredibly strong and determined survivor. You were loved and cared for by many. You were Mommy's Prince...What was it your first grade teacher called you? "Master Gabriel." You inspired me to drum, plus we both had asthma, so no wind instruments for us. Thank you for that and more. We'll love you forever. Rest in peace and light and joy, puppies and in the sweet, comforting arms of your Savior.
In addition to his mother, Gabriel is survived by two sisters, Judy Morales of Lyndhurst, NJ and Viva Delgado of San Leandro, CA as well as many nieces and nephews. Gabriel was predeceased by two sisters, Linda Rose Delgado and Angela Perez.
Gabriel will be reposing at the Simpson-Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave on Thursday, May 25, 2017 from 10:00 -11:00 AM.
A Funeral Service will follow at the funeral home at 11:00 AM with Pastor Don Moore from Living Word Chapel, officiating. Interment will follow in Montrepose Cemetery.
