Freda Maurer

Freda Maurer of Market St., Ellenville died Friday, December 21, 2007 at Ellenville Regional Hospital. She was 92. She was born in New York City on July 18, 1915, a daughter of the late Joseph and Anna Lacher Maurer. Formerly of Wassaic, Freda resided at Ulster - Greene ARC's Market Street residence since 1992. Freda was a very charming woman and everyone who met her fell in love with her spirit. She enjoyed being social and going places. Freda worked at Pilot Industries in Ellenville until she retired at 90 years of age. It was a difficult transition for Freda as her younger boyfriend continued to work there and sometimes had an additional girlfriend besides Freda. Freda loved her little dolls and over the years had collected many that adorned her room. Freda got along with everyone. Her boyfriend is Tony. Her favorite staff person, Janet. Freda liked day trips in the summer. She had a huge party for her 90th birthday at Lippman Park in Wawarsing that Laurie Kelley attended and she got an award for her long employment history. Freda liked her hair tied in a braid and put up in the back very tight. She enjoyed being pampered and loved getting her nails done. She was such a lovely lady. Everyone loved her. She was survived by many dear friends at Ulster - Greene ARC. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday at 12:00 PM at Simpson - Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave. Rabbi Moshe Frank will officiate. Interment will be in Montrepose Cemetery.
