Frank Owen Stokes, 66, formerly of Kingston,
died on June 28, 2013 in San Bernadino, CA
after a short battle with cancer.
He worked for the U.S. Postal Service in
Poughkeepsie for 34 years, retiring in 2001 to
move to Moreno Valley, CA. He was a member
of the White Eagle Benevolent Society and an
active volunteer with the Port Ewen Athletic
Association for many years. He enjoyed softball,
playing pool, shooting darts and was very
passionate about the NY Yankees. He was a loving
and devoted son, brother and father.
He is predeceased by his loving companion, Grace
Scott, and a dear cousin, Vincent Peck, whom he
considered a brother as well as many aunts and
uncles. Survivors include his mother, Bobbi
Brazee; a sister, Beth Cornell, and her son, Shane
Cornell; a daughter, Kristin McDermott, and son-in-law,
Devin; sons, Gregory Stokes-Chattanooga, TN and
Frank and Todd Stokes, both of CA; grandchildren,
Michael Stokes, Madison and Paige McDermott and
Frankee Stokes
Entrusted to the care of Keyser Funeral & Cremation
Service, 216 Broadway, Port Ewen, NY. Memorial
calling hours will be on Monday, July 15, 5-7 pm at
the funeral home.
