Frank Joseph Palmadessa, Sr., 88, of Lake Katrine, passed away Saturday, March 22, 2014 at home, peacefully in his favorite armchair. He was born November 24, 1925 in Manhattan, to the late Michele and Maria Palmadessa. He was married to his loving wife of 65 years, Maryann (Grech) Palmadessa. They wed on July 18th 1948 in St. Francis Xavier Church in Manhattan.
Frank worked for IBM for 28 years most of which was in NYC and then later in Kingston. He retired from IBM in 1989. At IBM he was a member of the Quarter Century Club and he also received three IBM Means Service Awards while he worked in Field Engineering. He also received many branch manager awards. Frank was a parishioner of St. Joseph's RC Church in Kingston. He was an avid sports fan, especially of the NY Yankees, NY Giants, and NY Rangers.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his children, Frank Joseph Palmadessa Jr. and his wife Margie of Summerfield, NC, Joanne Barber and her husband Tom of Cary, NC, John Andrew Palmadessa of Lake Katrine, grandchildren, Matthew Palmadessa and his wife Allison, Lorrie Barber and her husband Gianluca DiMichele, Kelly Merhar and her husband Doug, great-grandchildren, Audrey, Joshua, Sabrina, William, as well as, Diane Mayo of East Rockaway, NY and her grandson Collin, and several nieces and nephews.
Entrusted to the care of Luke Keyser of Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 326 Albany Ave., Kingston, where family and friends may visit on Tuesday March 25th from 1-4 & 7-9 pm. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 am on Wednesday March 26th at St. Joseph's RC Church, 242 Wall St., Kingston, NY 12401.
