Frank J Boughton, 80, of Lake Katrine, passed peacefully Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at Health Alliance Hospital, Broadway Campus. He was born January 24, 1934 in New Paltz, the son of the late John and Florence Tompkins Boughton. He was the husband of Ann E. Boughton; they wed on May 27, 1967, Ann passed on July 12, 2004.
Frank served in the US Army from 1953 - 1955 and in the Army Reserves until 1961.
He was a member of the Laborers International Union, Local 17. For many years Frank was a Brick handler working for Brigham Brickyard of East Kingston,
He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially striper fishing on the Hudson and salmon fishing in Pulaski, NY. One of his loving qualities was to spend time with his children and grandchildren. He endeared his sister Elsie by visiting her nearly every day.
Frank is survived by his children: MSG Joseph Gangi, US Army, ret. and his wife Marjorieann L. of Springfield, VA; Helen Harvey and her husband William of Jacksonville, FL; Laura A. Quick and her husband Gordon of Lake Katrine; and Terry M. Burger of Amarillo, TX, his two sisters: Martha E. Miller of Port Ewen and Elsie M .Boughton of East Kingston, his five grandchildren: Elizabeth A. Boughton, Joseph I. Gangi-Schmidt, Brianna R. Short, Neomelani L. Gangi and Tiara N. Gangi and two great grandchildren: Olivia Butler and Maximus Gangi and several nieces and nephews.
He was pre deceased by his four siblings: Clara Suto, James Boughton, Leona Smith and William Boughton.
Entrusted to the care of the Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 326 Albany Avenue, Kingston. Friends may call on Sunday from 2 - 6 pm. Graveside service will be Monday, 11a.m. at Lloyd Cemetery, Highland with military honors.
