Frank Denter

Frank "Franky D" Denter of Cordts Street, Kingston died Tuesday, June 8, 2010 at Benedictine Hospital. He was 56. A native and lifelong Kingston resident, he was a son of the late Francis "Footsie" Jr. and Margaret Frangello Denter. A graduate of Kingston High School, Frank served in the US Marine Corps. Frank was a well-known chef who owned and operated "Frangello's Catering" in Kingston. He worked at several restaurants in Brooklyn and Kingston and for many years at Carolina Restaurant in Brooklyn. A member of St. Mary's Benevolent Society, Frank belonged to the Ancient Order of Hibernians, Division #1, Ulster County. One brother Lance Corporal Stephen J. Denter died in 1978. Surviving are his daughter Layla Denter Aust and her husband Shannon of Sarasota, FL; five sisters Marlene Beisel and her husband Philip of Kingston, Joanne Cafaldo and her husband John of Mt. Marion, Linda Nalepa and her husband Joseph of Hurley, Patricia Denter of Kingston and Judy Gerdts and her husband Fred of Brooklyn; one brother Joseph Denter of Kingston; three grandchildren Harold Francis, Paiton and Shaimus Aust; his companion Wanda Winnie of Kingston; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Reposing at the Simpson - Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave. on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The Ancient Order of Hibernians will conduct a service on Thursday at 7:30 p.m; the St. Mary's Benevolent Society will pay their respects on Thursday at 8:00 p.m. The funeral procession will form on Friday at 9:00 a.m. from the funeral home. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary's Church at 10:00 a.m. Interment, with military honors by Joyce - Schirick Post 1386 VFW, will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
