Frank Carl Doyle, of Shufeldt Street died Friday, August 12, 2005 at the Golden Hill Health Care Facility. He was 87.
A native and lifelong Kingston resident, he was born on April 22, 1918, a son of the late Frank M. and Bertha Will Doyle.
For many years Frank worked as a machinest for the former Electrol, Kingston and then in shipping and receiving for I.B.M., Kingston.
A US Army veteran of WW II, he served in the European Theater of Operation. Frank was a Charter Member of the Town of Esopus American Legion Post 1298.
A member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Frank belonged to the Church's Men's Club and served as past president of the Church Board. He was a past president of the Men's Federation Church Bowling League and was a former American Little League Coach.
His wife Etta Thiel Doyle died February 8, 2003. One sister Madeline Rider died previously.
Surviving are two daughters Gail Salewski and her husband Wilhelm of Hitchcock, TX and Pamela Lorenz and her husband william of Saugerties; one son Douglas Doyle and his wife Wanda of Ulster Park; grandmother of Jodie Urban, Todd Diehl, James Lorenz, Hollis Gutwein, Ginger Whispel, Melissa Alecca; several great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
Reposing at the Simpson - Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave. on Monday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A ritualistic service by the Town of Esopus American Legion will be conducted at the funeral home on Monday at 8:00 PM.
The funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday at 10:00 at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Pastor Robert Harris will officiate. Interment, with military honors by the Joyce - Schirick Post 1386, V.F.W., will be in Montrepose Cemetery, Kingston.
