Frank B. Bondarenka of Valencia, PA died Saturday, March 28, 2009 at his daughter's residence. He was 91.
He was born in California, PA on January 28, 1918, a son of the late Stanley and Adele Bondarenka. He served in the European Theater of Operations during WW II in the US Army. For over 30 years Mr. Bondarenka was employed as a steelworker for Jones and Loughlin Steel Corp., Pittsburgh.
A longtime Pittsburgh resident he moved to Port Richie, Florida in the early 1980's. He returned to Pittsburgh in 2006.
One son, Pasquale Bondarenka; three sisters, Mary Hickey, Songa Nee and Helen Durinsky; and one brother, Alexander Bondarenka all died previously. Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Amelia Fantone Bondarenka of Valencia, Pa; one son Francis A. Bondarenka and his wife Lynn of Hurley; one daughter Sue Perri and her husband Joe of Valencia, Pa; six grandchildren Jason, David, Joseph, Nicholas, Alexander and Bethany; one sister Stella Bacha; one brother in-law Pietro Fantone.
A Funeral Mass was celebrated at Immaculate Conception Church, Pittsburgh on March 31st. Entombment was in Calvary Cemetery, Pittsburgh.
