Frances G. Paladino, a long-time Highland resident, died Friday, December 19, 2008 at the Rehabilitation Center of the Palm Beaches. She was 89.
She was born in Kingston on July 17, 1919, a daughter of the late Joseph and Anna Hawley Sessler. Mrs. Paladino was a graduate of Kingston High School. She married William Paladino and moved to Highland in 1939.
A well-liked woman, she was generous and giving. She always favored the underdog and showed true concern for the poor. For the past six years she resided with her grandaughter Ann Sagarese Dedrick, and family, Harold and Julie in Punta Gorda Isles, FL.
Her husband William Paladino died in 1990; two sisters Marie Peach and Catherine Sessler and one brother Frank Sessler all died previously.
Surviving are one daughter Barbara Paladino Sagarese of Punta Gorda, FL, one son William Paladino and his wife Diane of Palm Beach, FL; one sister Madeline Schaller of Kingston; four grandchildren, Ann Sagarese Dedrick, Edward Sagarese, Jeffrey Paladino and William J. Paladino; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Reposing at the Michael Torsone Memorial Funeral Home, 38 Main Street, Highland (845) 691-2281 on Friday, December 26th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Augustine Church, Highland on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Newburgh.
A memorial will be held on Tuesday, December 23rd at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Punta Gorda, where she will be eulogized by Edward Sagarese and Ann Sagarese Dedrick.
In her memory, contributions to any organization that helps the poor and underprivledged would be appreciated.
