Frances A. “Chickey” Costello of Brigham Street, East Kingston died Tuesday at Kingston Hospital. She was 91.
A native and lifelong resident of East Kingston, she was a daughter of the late Louis and Josephine Amato Costello.
For many years Mrs. Costello worked at the former R & F Dress Company, Glasco. A skilled sewer and crotchetier, she was known for her quality linens and dresses.
A parishioner of St. Colman’s Church, East Kingston, her husband, Russell J. Costello died January 8, 1990. One daughter Rose Marie Casey died in 2001. Two sisters Lillian Nagy and Mary D. Cole and two brothers James and Frank Costello, all died previously.
Surviving are one daughter Josephine Reina of Kingston; one brother John Costello of Lake Katrine. Loving grandmother of Karen Casey Beck and Brenda Reina Seller; great grandmother of Courtney, Michaela and Kyle Beck and Ryan Seller. Many nieces and nephews also survive.
Reposing at Simpson – Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave. on Wednesday from 3:00 – 5:00 and 7:00 – 9:00 PM. The funeral will be Thursday at 9:15 AM from the funeral home. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Colman’s Church at 10:00 AM. Interment in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
