Florence Theresa "Peg" Norton of Fairview Avenue, Kingston died Tuesday, October 30, 2007 at Albany Medical Center. She was 80.
A native and lifelong Kingston resident, she was born on November 20, 1926, a daughter of the late John James and Anna Veronica Wojciehowski Norton, Sr. Her father died October 16, 1956, her mother on October 23, 1977.
Peg was a graduate of Kingston High School, Class of 1944. She previously worked at NY Telephone and lived, for many years, on Abbey Street, Kingston.
For many years she worked at I.B.M., Kingston. A Quarter Century Club member, she retired from I.B.M., after 32 years of service, in 1987.
A parishioner of St. Joseph's Church, for many years Peg ministered as a Eucharistic Minister. An avid bowler, she previously volunteered at The People's Place.
Two brothers John James Norton Jr. and William Joseph Norton, both died previously.
Surviving are one brother, Vincent Francis Norton and his wife Bette of Ocala, Florida; three nephews Roger, William and Garry Norton, two nieces Patricianne Norton and Robin Burr.
Reposing at the Simpson - Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave. on Friday 2:00 - 6:00 PM. The funeral will be Saturday at 9:15 AM from the funeral home. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph's Church at 10:00 AM. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
