Florence M. Heaney of the Town of Ulster died Tuesday, July 13, 2004 at Benedictine Hospital. She was 73.
She was born in Kingston on November 5, 1930, a daughter of the late Michael and Angelina Jordan DeCicco.
A Kingston High School graduate of 1948, Mrs. Heaney was a lifelong area resident.
A parishioner of St. Catherine Laboure Church, Mrs. Heaney was a Eucharistic Minister and the current secretary of the Altar - Rosary Society. She served as secretary of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Court Santa Maria.
Flo loved to travel, play golf, play in her bridge club and swim in her pool.
Her husband Robert Heaney died May 9, 1992. Three sisters Rose Arace, Lena A. DiMicco and Margaret T. Candello all died previously.
Surviving are her daughter Linda Palladino and her husband Michael of Kingston; three sisters Teresa Melnick, Laura Brown and Mary DiMicco, all of Kingston; one grandson Michael Palladino Jr. and his fiance Aurora Peritz; Beth Maxim and her husband Cory; and Andrea Palladino; many nieces and nephews.
Reposing at Simpson - Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave. on Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. St. Catherine Laboure Altar-Rosary Society and Catholic Daughters of the Americas will conduct a vigil service for Florence Heaney on Wednesday at 3:00 PM.
The funeral will be Thursday at 9:00 AM from the funeral home. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Catherine Laboure Church at 10:00 AM. Interment in St. Mary's Cemetery.
