Filippa (Fay) Pietramala, of Kingston, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, August 22nd. Born in Brooklyn of Italian immigrants from Sicily on September 4, 1917 Fay was just 13 days shy of her 100th birthday.
She was predeceased by her parents, Luigi Russano and Lucia (Giusta) Russano; brother Louis and sisters Anna Catalano and Rose Monte; husbands Charles Musso, Angelo Guiffre, Luigi Pietramala and her beloved Grandson Salvatore Musso, Jr.
Fay was a seamstress extraordinaire most of her life but, full of energy, in her 70's she worked for Benedictine Hospital in Medical Records running the office alone on the weekends. She finally decided to retire at the young age of 78. Not to compete with Grandma Moses, she took up painting late in life working with oils, water colors and pastels, and winning awards for her pastel and selling many of her oils.
She is survived by her daughter Victoria Hoyt and her life partner Jeffrey Greene, Beloved Grandson Carlton Riseley Hoyt (Laura Stevens), Daughter-in-law Margaret (Dottie) Propps, grandchildren Deborah Musso and Christine Musso DeBorba. Also surviving are her great grandchildren Kassidy, Shayla, Jasmine, Ashleigh, Justin and Marissa and several nieces and nephews.
At the request of Fay, services were private.
