Evelyn R. Sior, of Harwich St., Kingston died Monday, December 25, 2006 at the Golden Hill Health Care Facility. She was 91.
She was born in the Bronx on April 5, 1915, a daughter of the late John and Julie Fiedler Richter. Mrs. Sior moved from the Bronx to West Hurley in 1921. On June 11, 1938 she married Philip V. Sior and, for many years lived on Tilden St., Port Ewen. They moved to Hurley in 1997. Philip died May 22, 2005.
Mrs. Sior was a parishioner of St. Joseph's Church.
Three sisters Marian Fatum, Louise VanDeMark and Julia Caroselli all died previously.
Surviving are two daughters Philis McCloskey and her husband John of Kingston, Julia Evans and her husband Kenneth of High Falls; her son Thomas Sior of Kingston; ten grandchildren David Sior, Jayne McCloskey, Beth Ann Akins and her husband David, Shawn McCloskey and his wife Patricia, Noel Woodard and her husband Douglas, and Andrew McCloskey and his wife Andriana, Debra Carlsen and her husband Tom, Diana Evans, Kevin Evans and his wife Angela and Brian Evans and his wife Emily; great- grandchildren Rebecca and Nicholas Akins, Sarah and Anastasia Sior, Kevin and Julia McCloskey, Kenneth, Taylor, Tina, Ashley and Kyle Evans and Richard Stokes;great-great grandchildren, Joshua and Ava Stokes and the late Brett Evans; several nieces and nephews.
Reposing at the Simpson - Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave. on Thursday from 3-8 PM. The funeral will be Friday at 9:15 AM from the funeral home. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph's Church at 10:00.
Private inurnment will be in St. Peter's Cemetery, Rosendale.
