Evelyn M. Van Gaasbeek

Rhinebeck - Evelyn M. Van Gaasbeek of Pond Drive West died Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at the Thompson House. She was 89. She was born in Philadelphia, PA the daughter of the late Roland and Christine Gerhart. A registered nurse, she assisted her husband, Dr. Glenn Van Gaasbeek in his office and as his operating room nurse. Dr. Van Gaasbeek passed away on September 11, 1992. Mrs. Van Gaasbeek enjoyed gardening, bird watching, reading and cooking. She was a long time member of the Rhinebeck United Methodist Church. Surviving are her sons, Dr. Dale Van Gaasbeek, PhD and his wife Marie of Kingston and Dr. Gary L. Van Gaasbeek, MD and his wife Tuula of Toronto, Canada. Eight grandchildren and one great-grandson also survive. Entrusted to the care of A. Carr & Son Funeral Home, 65 Lucas Ave., Kingston. Cremation and inurnment in Hurley Cemetery will be private.
