Eve Sales of Plainfield St., Kingston died Saturday, May 17, 2008 at the Baptist Home in Rhinebeck. She was 95.
She was born April 13, 1913 in New York City, a daughter of the late Hyman and Mae Hymen Schaeffer.
A housewife and artist, she enjoyed working with acrylic paints, sculpting, sewing and making dolls. She took an acting class in her eighties and was an avid animal lover. With her husband, she was involved in civil rights and women's rights organizations.
Her husband David Sales died July 8, 2003.
Surviving are her daugter, Lynda Sales Engholm and her husband Bruce of Kingston, her son Robin Howard Sales and his wife Irene of Littleton, CO, her brother, Milton Schaeffer and her sister, Sylvia Strawn. Five grandchildren, Jamey Sadownick and Bethany Sadownick of Astoria, NY, Debby hames of kansas, rick Sales of Minnesota and Vickie Todd of Colorado.
Several great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild also survive.
Friends will be recieved at the Simpson-Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave., Kingston on Saturday, June 14, 2005 from 12:00 to 2:00 PM. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm.
