Eugene P. Lucchi of Stony Run Apartments, Hurley Ave., Kingston died Saturday, July 16, 2005 at Kingston Hospital. He was 81.
He was born in Nanto Glo, Pennsylvania on November 9, 1923, a son of the late Andrew J. and Adele Mazza Lucchi.
A decorated WW II US Army veteran, Mr. Lucchi served in General Patton's 3rd Army in the 87th Infantry Division. He received Battle Stars as a result of action in Ardennes, the Rhineland and Central Europe. He was awarded the Purple Heart for wounds received in Belgium.
For many years Mr. Lucci freelanced as a window display constructor in New York City and Albany. He married Arlene Halsdorf on February 27, 1954.
Formerly of Delmar, NY he was an amateur radio enthusiast. He has lived in Kingston for 15 years.
Two sisters Mary Bredderman and Pauline Donovan and three brothers Mario, Andrew and Leo Lucchi all died previously.
Surviving in addition to his wife of 51 years, Arlene Lucchi, are nieces, nephews and cousins.
Reposing at Simpson - Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave., Kingston on Tuesday from 2:00 - 5:00 PM. The funeral will be Wednesday at 9:15 AM from the funeral home. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph's Church at 10:00 AM. Interment will be in Our Lady Help of Christians Cemetery in Glenmont, NY.
