Ethel K. Reineck Noiseux of Van Schoick Avenue, Albany, died peacefully on Friday, May 13, 2011, at her home. She was 90. A lifelong Albany resident, she was the daughter of the late William J. and Julianna Prell Reineck. A graduate of Albany High School, Ethel received her Bachelors Degree from SUNY at Albany - Teachers College. From 1943-1983 Ethel worked for the NYS Dept. of Civil Service, first for the Examination and Testing Division and then later as the Suggestion Program Coordinator. Ethel was a lifelong, faithful and very generous parishioner at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Albany. She was involved in various ministries including the Church Staff Relations Committee and an active participant in KITS and Adults of St. John's - both senior social organizations. As a Child's Hospital (now Albany Medical Center South Campus) volunteer, she was a member of the "Jolly Girls," a small group of friends that met every Thursday to provide volunteer services to patients. Ethel's beloved husband, Joseph Francis Noiseux, died September 14, 1991. Joe also worked for NYS in the Dept. of Taxation and Finance and the Division of Budget. Ethel was a long time and very close friend to Anneliese Lawson, Mark Oldendorf, Mike Diacovo and the late Dave and Marisa Clark. She is also survived by loving caretakers and friends, Rose Dolan, Ashley Vignola, Sabrina Arrington, as well as several nieces and nephews. Reposing at the St. John's Chapel, 303 Sand Creek Road, Colonie on Wednesday from 9:30 - 11:30. A Funeral Service will then be conducted at 11:30 by Rev. Paul D. Rees-Rohrbacher . Interment will follow in St. John's Cemetery, adjacent to the chapel. Memorials, in Ethel's memory, may be made to: St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church. --------------------------------------------------- Directions to St John's Chapel and Cemetery From the East: Take I-90 West to Exit #5 (Everett Road) At end of exit ramp, turn right on Everett Road. Take second left on Sand Creek Road. Proceed west on Sand Creek Road. Just beyond Campagna Drive, you'll see St. John's Cemetery on the right. The Chapel is at the entrance of the cemetery grounds. From the West: From I-90 East (coming from the West) Take exit 24 from the NYS Thruway. Take the middle exit from the toll barrier onto I-87 North (the Northway) towards Montreal. You will take the first exit after getting on, this is the Wolf Rd. Exit and NY Rt 5. East. Stay toward the middle on the exit to proceed north on Wolf Rd. You will pass a mall, Colonie Center, on the right. After Borders and Office Max turn right at the next traffic signal, Sand Creek Rd. Turn right onto Sand Creek Rd. You will pass 4 traffic signals. (about 3/4 mile). On the left you will see Sand Creek Middle School just before a rise. Just past the crest is St. John's Cemetery on the left. St. John's Chapel is at the front of the cemetery. From SUNY Albany: Take Washington Avenue to Fuller Road. Turn right (north) on Fuller to Central Avenue. Turn right on Central Avenue to Ahl Avenue. Turn left on Ahl Avenue to Sand Creek Road. Turn right on Sand Creek Road. On the left you will see Sand Creek Middle School just before a rise. Just past the crest is St. John's Cemetery on the left. St. John's Chapel is in the front of the cemetery.
