Ernest J. "Winnie" Stalhut of Harrington, Delaware died Saturday, January 26, 2008 at his home. He was 24.
He was born in Kingston on January 25, 1984, a son of John M. Winnie of Wawarsing, New York and Ellen M. Stalhut of Greenwood, Delaware. Formerly of East Chester St., Kingston, Ernie attended Kingston High School.
He moved to Delaware and worked for Cerillos Nursery since he was 15 years old. He enjoyed working outdoors and landscaping.
Ernie was currently preparing to enter the National Guard. He enjoyed fishing with his father and riding quads. Ernie shared a passion for motorcycles with his mom and dad. He loved to shoot pool and darts. He belonged to a billiards league, Nine Ball Stoners. He also enjoyed bowling.
Ernie will be remembered as an outgoing, caring individual who always lent a hand to help anyone. Because he had such a big heart, he would give you the shirt off his back. He will be sadly missed by his family and many close friends.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his maternal grandmother Betty Winnie of Lomontville; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
There will be a gathering of family and friends on Saturday from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Simpson - Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave. A candlelight service will be conducted at 7:00 PM.
