Ernest J. Guido, 82, of Rondout Dr., Kingston died January 31, 2004 at Ferncliff Nursing Home.
Born in East Kingston on August 31, 1921, he was a son of the late Jerome and Theresa Sisco Guido. A lifelong area resident, he was a parishioner of St. Colman’s Church.
Mr. Guido was a US Army veteran of WW II having served in the European Theater of Operations.
Since 1951 he owned and operated “Frank’s Pizzeria” on Broadway, Kingston. In 1990 it was renamed “Uncle Ernie’s.” In 1997 he retired.
One son Michael S. Guido died in 1957. Three sisters Julia Long, Fannie Colucci and Mary Buono, six brothers Michael, James, Jerome, Charles and Salvatore Guido and John Mauro all died previously.
Surviving are one son Ernest M. Guido of Rosendale, three sisters Jennie Parise of Poughkeepsie, Theresa Cozza and Louise Jones, both of Lake Katrine; two brothers Thomas Guido of Orange, NJ and Gabriel “Zip” Guido of Kingston; his former wife Anna M. Betley Guido of Kingston; many nieces and nephews.
Reposing at Simpson – Gaus Funeral Home on Tuesday morning from 8:30 AM. The funeral will process at 9:30 AM to St. Colman’s Church where at 10:00 a Funeral Mass will be celebrated. Inurnment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery at a later date.
