Emilie C. Keator departed this world on March 20, 2023. She was 98 years old. She was born on April 15, 1924 at Chamber´s Maple Lane Farm in the Town of Ulster, the youngest of Adelbert H. Chambers´ and Elizabeth B. Gwynne´s three children. She was a graduate of House in the Pines boarding school and later earned an associate's degree from Chevy Chase Junior College. During her early years she was a member of the Kingston Riding Club, the Kingston Junior League and the Dutch Reformed Church. Following college, she lived and worked in retail in New York City. Later she was a member of the Hidden Harbor Yacht Club.
She is predeceased by husband Harold ´Knobby´ E. Keator of Lake Katrine. Also preceding her are her parents, first husband John L. McGrath, sister Gay Schrowang, brother Robert Chambers, niece Mary M. Merck and nephew Travis Nissen.
She is survived by daughters Elizabeth McGrath (Gordon) of Park City, Utah and Anna McGrath of Sarasota, Florida, as well as stepdaughters Christine Steele and Kathleen Pauker, nephews Jim McGrath, Edward Schrowang (Irene), Robert Schrowang (Carol) and niece Barbara Mete (David).
Arrangements entrusted to Keyser Funeral Home on Monday March 27, 2023 where family and friends may visit from 10 am to 12pm. Funeral service will take place at 12 pm with burial to follow at Wiltwyck Cemetery.
