Elsie F Staicer

Elsie F Staicer, 93, of Shokan, formerly of Kingston and Ulster Park, passed peacefully Sunday, June 1, 2014 at Health Alliance Hospital, Broadway Campus, Kingston. She was born November 7, 1920 in New York City, and was the daughter of the late Michael and Angela Smodish.

She was a graduate of Julia Richmond High School in NYC. In the early 40's, she and her husband moved to Ulster Park where they raised their four children. In her later years she resided at 7 Greens Apartments, Kingston. The last 6 years she lived with and was cared for by her daughter Jeanne. Her happiest times were visits with her family. For many years she was a parishioner of Sacred Heart RC Church and St. Josephs RC Church.

Her husband Joseph R Staicer died on December 2, 1976. She is survived by her children
Michael Staicer and his wife Kay of Princess Anne, MD, Jeanne Davis of Shokan, Mark Staicer and his wife Brenda of Lexington, OH and Karen Atkinson and her husband Wesley of Richardson, TX, 8 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters, Anna Fritz, Pauline Picklo and Josephine Healey.

Entrusted to the care of Eric Keyser, Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 326 Albany Avenue, Kingston where the family will receive their friends on Wednesday from 6 - 9 pm. The procession will form on Thursday at 11 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at Sacred Heart RC Church at 12 noon. Burial in St. Mary's Cemetery.
