Ellen Henrietta Hanley

Ellen Henrietta Hanley of Rehoboth Beach, Delaware died Tuesday, January 4, 2005 at the Beebe Medical Center. She was 94. She was born in Brooklyn on October 6, 1910, a daughter of the late John and Anna Bockrath Lang. A longtime resident of Glendale, Queens, she moved to Shepherd Road, Warwick in 1968. In 1987 Mrs. Hanley moved to North Carolina and, for the past eight years, to Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. Her husband John Hanley died March 7, 1973. One son John W. Hanley died May 30, 1998. Surviving are her daughter Kathleen E. Boyle of Rehoboth Beach, Delaware; eight grandchildren - Theresa Scroggins of Waterford, CA, John W. Hanley, Jr. and wife Michele of Greensboro, N.C., Kathy Sculley and husband Dan of Vacaville, CA, Lynda Hanley of Kingston, N.Y., Patrick Hanley and his wife Donna of Providence, R.I., and Jacque Lent and fiance Greg of Lake Katrine, N.Y., Frank Genovese of Rehoboth Beach, DE and Christina Allen and her husband Tommy of Winnabow, N.C.. There are 16 great-grandchildren and one great, great grandchild. Reposing at Simpson – Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave. on Friday 2-4 and 6-8 PM. The funeral will be Saturday at 12:15 from the funeral home. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s Church at 1:00 PM. Interment will be in the family plot at Oliverea Cemetery in the spring.
