Ella Panesa

Ella Panesa of South Rd., Town of Kingston died Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at her home. She was 47. She was born in the Bronx, a daughter of the late John and Elsie Elaine Johnson McGourty. Ella was raised in Pougquag and graduated Arlington High School. Formerly of Poughkeepsie, she married Paul J. Panesa on May 7, 1988. A Kingston area resident since 1987, Ella has worked for the past 16 years as a pharmacy tech at Port Ewen Pharmacy. An avid fitness and athletic buff, Ella enjoyed playing softball and volleyball in Kingston Rec leagues as well as running, kayaking and everything outdoors. Her zest for life was equaled to her love of family and friends. Loving wife of Paul J. Panesa, mother of Lauren Panesa of Town of Kingston, sister of Michael McGourty of Tampa, FL, cousin of Dennis Gill of Vestal. Many nieces and nephews also survive. Reposing at the Simpson Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave. on Friday from 2-4 and 6-9 pm. A Funeral Service will be conducted at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, corner of Spring and Hone Sts., Kingston on Saturday at 10:00 am. Rev. Paul M. Britton will officiate.
