Elizabeth L. Burgher

Elizabeth L. Burgher, formerly of Shufeldt St., Kingston died Friday, March 23, 2007 at Golden Hill Health Care Facility. She was 97. She was born in the Bronx on December 3, 1909, a daughter of the late Fredrick and Louise Koenig Sarbacher. Mrs. Burgher moved to Kingston in 1929. She worked as a machine operator and floor girl at the former Fuller Shirt Factory, Kingston. Mrs. Burgher later worked in the cafeteria at Kingston High School. A member of Trinity Lutheran Church, she belonged to the Golden Age Club. Her husband Ralph H. Burgher died November 1, 1979. One sister Edith Worthington and one brother Fred Sarbacher both died previously. Surviving are a nephew Harry Worthington and his wife Marion of Forestport; two nieces Vida Brehm and Joan Corcoran of Wappinger Falls; a special friend Virginia 'Ginny' Scully. Reposing at the Simpson - Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave. on Tuesday from 1:00 - 3:00 PM. A funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 by Rev. Robert Harris from Trinity Lutheran Church will officiate. Interment will be in Mt. Marion Cemetery.
