Elizabeth D. Maxson

Elizabeth D. Maxson, 95, a longtime resident of the Town of Ulster, died Monday, January 23, 2017 at HealthAlliance Hospital Broadway Campus. Born in the Town of Ulster, she was a daughter of the late Thomas & Agnes Bensinger Carpino. A 1939 graduate of Kingston High School, she was one of the first graduates in its Secretarial Practice course, which enabled her to have a successful career as a law secretary. Elizabeth was one of the co-founders of the Town of Ulster Library and the Ulster County Legal Secretaries Association. An active member of the Old Dutch Church, she was past president of Choir Mothers and together with the late Peter Gates, founded its retirees group. Elizabeth is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth L. Henninger and her husband, Charles of Kingston, a sister, Irene Ashdown of Kingston, two brothers, Louis Carpino of Kingston and Thomas Carpino of Port Ewen. In addition to her parents, Elizabeth was predeceased by her husband, Michael Maxson, and a sister, Mary A. Chick.
