Eleanor Finkle

Eleanor G. Finkle, 86, of Stone Ridge, formerly of Hewlett Harbor & Woodmere, passed away Monday, February 17, 2014 at her home, surrounded by family. Born in Far Rockaway, NY, she was the daughter of the late Solomon & Bessie Hofkin Fine. Eleanor graduated from Hofstra University with a Masters degree in Social Work. She was a woman of powerful intellect. Way ahead of her time, she used her education to touch many lives while being a superb homemaker. Eleanor enjoyed traveling, reading, cooking, entertaining, knitting and her pets. But most of all she cherished her time with family and friends. She is survived by three children, Steven Finkle of Troy, Robert Finkle of New York City, Amy Finkle of Stone Ridge. A private graveside service was held at Montefiore Cemetery with Cantor Bob Cohen of Temple Emanuel.
