Ekow Bentsi-Barnes

Ekow Bentsi-Barnes, 34, of Kingston & Newark, NJ, passed away Sunday, March 8, 2015. He was born December 18, 1980 in Accra, Ghana to Dr. Augustus and Anna Bentsi-Barnes.


Ekow was a graduate of J. Watson Bailey Middle School, Kingston High School Class of 1999, and Rutgers University. He was a teacher of English and Economics for the Irvington School District in New Jersey.


In addition to his parents he is survived by his brother, Kwamina Bentsi-Barnes and his wife Ikuko, his sister, Esi Bentsi-Barnes, as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.


Entrusted to the care of Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service. Friends and family may visit at Pointe of Praise Family Life Center, 243 Hurley Ave., Kingston, NY 12401 on Saturday March 21st from 2pm to 5pm with the funeral service starting at 5pm. The procession will form at Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 326 Albany Ave., Kingston, NY 12401 on Sunday March 22nd at 8:30am and proceed to Wiltwyck Cemetery, Kingston.


The family suggests in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to Pointe of Praise Family Life Center, 243 Hurley Ave., Kingston, NY 12401.
