Edwin Aspinall

March 21, 1910 — December 12, 2006

Edwin Aspinall of Neighborhood Rd. and formerly of Brown’s Station and Shokan died Tuesday, December 12, 2006 at Ten Broeck Commons Nursing Home. He was 96. He was born March 21, 1910 in Brooklyn, a son of the late Frederick and Bessie Bryer Aspinall. A butcher, he owned his own business in Brooklyn and worked for several area companies including Siller Beef and traveled door to door for Eddie’s Prime Meats in the Shokan and Boiceville areas. He was a former member of the Moose Lodge in Port Ewen. On November 10, 1972, he married Catherine Vallely Tucker Aspinall. Surviving in addition to wife are two sons, Edwin of Saugerties, George of Phoenixville, PA, a daughter, Audrey Swett of Port St. Lucie, FL; two step-sons, James Tucker of Lynbrook, William Tucker of Pound Ridge; two step-daughers, Virginia Van Etten of Endicott and Kathleen Jordan of Pine Hill; one brother, Walter Aspinall of Bridgehampton. Nine grandchildren and seven step-grandchildren also survive. A brother, Frederick Aspinall, three sisters, Madeline Braunstein, Florence Sokolowski, Bessie Doherty and a step-son, Thomas Tucker died previously. Cremation was private. A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 5th. at 11:00 am at Simpson-Gaus Funeral Home.
