Edward L. Zimolzak, 85, of Kingston, NY died Sunday, September 18, 2011 at Kingston Hospital.
He was born in Glen Lyon, PA, a son of the late Stanley and Lucy Kovaleski Zimolzak. Ed received a Masters Degree in Biology and Education from New Paltz University. He served in the US Navy during WW II on the USS Kenneth M. Willet DE-354.
He taught biology at Kingston High School from 1962 1987. Over those years Ed inspired many students to follow in his field of biology. Dedicated to his family and extended family, Ed was an avid hunter, fisherman, golfer and gardener.
Beloved husband of the late Elizabeth 'Betty' Simone Zimolzak; loving father of Claudia Sweet and her husband Gregory of Pittsford, NY; loving lifelong partner of Angeline Waltamath; grandfather of Tara Sweet and her husband Brian Cregg, and Brian Sweet; great grandfather of Eva Cregg; brother of Evelyn Lanzisera of Marco Island, FL and the late Leo and Leona Villa. Nieces and nephews also survive.
Reposing at the Simpson Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave., Kingston, NY on Tuesday from 4 PM 7 PM. Reposing at George A. Strish, Inc., 211 W. Main St., Glen Lyon, PA on Wednesday from 4 PM 7 PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Spirit Parish, at 9:30 AM, Thursday, Sept. 22, 150 Main St., Mocanaqua, PA. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Mocanaqua, PA.
