Kingston - Edward Deribeprey of Miller's Lane died Sunday, August 24, 2014 at Vassar Bros. Medical Center. He was 80. He was born in New York City, a son of the late Joseph and Maria Carrasquillo Deribeprey. Mr. Deribeprey was a textile printer, retiring from Velourit Co. in Hoboken, NJ. He loved music, specializing in hand percussion. He played with the likes of Dizzy Gillespie, Art Blakey and Eddie Palmieri. He also played as an invited guest of local bands. He enjoyed painting with oils and charcoal sketching. He loved to tinker and was called MacGyver by his grandchildren. He was married to the late Victoria Velasquez Deribeprey. Surviving are two daughters, Carol Deribeprey and Ann Ramos, both of Union City, NJ and two sons, Joey Deribeprey of Brielle, NJ and Victor Deribeprey of Kingston. Seven grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren also survive. Entrusted to the care of A. Carr & Son Funeral Home, 65 Lucas Ave., Kingston. Cremation was private.
