Edward Charles Dickson, 54, of Kingston, passed away suddenly Thursday, May 23, 2013 at Northern Dutchess Hospital. He was born December 9, 1958 in Amsterdam, NY to the late William and Cecelia (Hill) Dickson.




Ed was a graduate of Saugerties High School. He had previously worked at K-Mart in Kingston and drove a school bus for Saugerties School District. He was a past member of the East Kingston Fire Department where he had served as President, Board Member and Captain of the Fire Police. He was a member of the Ulster County Fire Police Association.




Ed is survived by his siblings, George Dickson of Kingston, Judith Phillips and her husband Charles of Kingston, Thomas Dickson and his wife Janet of Kingston, David Dickson and his wife Georgina of Kingston, Jean Schaeffer and her husband Steven of Reynoldsburg, OH, Robert Dickson and his husband Edward of Schenectady and John Dickson and his wife Faith of Mt. Marion, as well as many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.




Entrusted to the care of Luke Keyser of Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 326 Albany Ave., Kingston, where friends may call on Tuesday from 4-8pm. The funeral procession will form on Wednesday at 8:30am at the funeral home and proceed to St. Colman Church where at 9:30am a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Amsterdam, NY.




The family suggests in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to: East Kingston Volunteer Fire Department, 885 Main St., East Kingston, NY 12401
