Edna Watzka, 91, of Kingston, died Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at Ten Broeck Commons.
Born in Kingston, she was a daughter of the late John & Mary Aesusoph Hutter.
Edna was a homemaker. Also, she worked as a machine operator at a local dress company and then for 27 years as a Food Service helper at the Kingston School District. She was a lifelong member of St. Colman Church and the Altar Rosary Society. She loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed fishing including many trips to the Thousand Islands. She is still the family record holder for the largest catch.
Edna is survived by two sons; John Watzka and his wife Carol of Hyde Park and Edward Watzka and his wife Denise of Port Ewen, four grandchildren; Robin Watzka and her significant other Christopher Rembicz, Jason Watzka and his wife Kimberly, Dr. Gina Watzka and her husband Dr. Michael Armato and Matthew Watzka, two great-grandchildren; Zachary Armato and Lisa Watzka, her sister Genevieve Benicase as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Edna was predeceased by her husband Jack Watzka, their son Michael “Mickey” Watzka, her brothers George and John Hutter and her sister Frances McNally.
Edna will be reposing at the Simpson-Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave on Saturday, January 19, 2019 from 10:00 – 11:30 AM.
A funeral procession will follow to St. Colman Church where a Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12:00 noon.
Interment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery.
