Edith "Edie" G Goodridge, 74, formerly of Brigham Apartments, Smith Ave., Kingston, passed peacefully Monday morning, February 25, 2013 at Ferncliff Nursing Home, Rhinebeck.
She was a graduate of Kingston High School, class of 1956 and had attended SUNY New Paltz. For over 30 years Edie was a faithful and dedicated employee of the Kingston City Schools, serving as a teacher's aid at the John F. Kennedy School. Prior to that she had worked as a private duty nurse and at Hercules
Edie was a member of Pointe of Praise Family Life Center, Hurley Avenue, she loved sports, traveled all over the area watching her family play, loved to cook, her door was always open to everyone, and she enjoyed playing cards.
She was born October 1, 1938 in Glasco, the daughter of the late Edward and Louise Smith Neal and was the wife of the late William Chaffin
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving family, sons William E. Chaffin and his wife Denise and Clark J. Chaffin, grandchildren Jazmine, Chloe, Levi, and Halle Chaffin, Amber Miller and Amiya Gordon, her beloved niece Dasha Goodridge, her sisters Gloria Singleton, Dorothy Childs, Eleanor Kithcart, Ruth Wilson and Shirley Johnson and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins, she was predeceased by brothers Donald Davis and Richard T. Neal,
The Homegoing Service will be at the Pointe of Praise Family Life Center on Friday at 12 noon. The family will receive friends and family from 10 - 12 pm.
