Dr. Fred A. Fritz, age 83, of Greenbriar Village, Dallas, Pennsylvania died Monday, March 10, 2008 at Greenbriar Village. Dr. Fritz was born May 19, 1924 at Wyoming, PA the son of the late Arthur and Anna Jones Fritz. Husband of the late Lillian Ewel Fritz who died August 7, 2006.
He served in the Army during World War II Asiatic Pacific Theater of Operations. He was a graduate of Wyoming High School, did his undergraduate studies at the University of Scranton, received his master's from Bucknell University and his doctorate degree from Delaware University
Dr. Fritz had worked for Hercules Inc. in their research and development department in Wilmington, Delaware for over 35 years. He had a life long passion for learning and research, still keeping up on the latest research and theories. He was awarded several patents for his innovations while at Hercules. His hobbies included golf, computers and hi tech equipment.
He is survived by step children Lillian Campbell of Esopus, NY; John McElrath of Kingston, NY; Ferrell McElrath of Saugerties, Joyce Huddleston of Waco, TX; Ronald McElrath of Esopus, NY; and Gary McElrath of Hurley, NY Predeceased by a step daughter, Jeanne McElrath
His siblings, Shirley Connors of West Wyoming, PA, Jane Carey of Sun City, FL, Nancy Monroe of Fort Smith, AK, Edith Kraynak of Wyoming, PA, Carol Miller of Wyoming, PA and Harold Fritz of Boca Raton, 17 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be Friday at 11:00 am at Keyser Funeral Service, Inc., 216 Broadway, Port Ewen. The family will receive their friends on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Entombment in Wiltwyck Cemetery, Kingston
