Dorothy Cohen of Chestnut Street, Hurley died Wednesday, February 17, 2010 at TenBroeck Commons Nursing Home. She was 89.
She was born in the Bronx, a daughter of the late Solomon and Sophie Goldman Mesnick.
Formerly of Flushing, Queens, Mrs. Cohen was a receptionist for JC Penny in New York City for 15 years. She retired in 1984. She has lived in this area for 21 years. Dorothy was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Her husband, Lawrence Cohen, died February 4, 1966.
Surviving is her daughter Marlene Kennedy and her husband John of Hurley and son Norman Cohen and wife Samroi of Bangkok, Thailand, four grandchildren David Ian Kennedy, Lauren Katherine Kennedy, Sara Cohen, and Lawrence Cohen.
A Funeral Service will be conducted on Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Simpson - Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave., Kingston. Cantor Bob Cohen will officiate. Interment will follow in Beth El Cemetery, Paramus, NJ.
Memorial contributions may be made to Ulster-Greene ARC or the Parson's Child and Family Center, Albany.
