Dorothy M. Bell

Dorothy M. Bell, 90, of The Birchez in Ulster Park, NY, passed away on Monday, November 28, 2016. She was born on July 6, 1926 in Tillson, NY to the late Gustav and Ruth May (DeLaForce) Nickel.


She married Frank Bell on December 31, 1946. Frank passed away on August 17, 1994. Dorothy was a member of the Reformed Church of Port Ewen and a member of the Greater Consistory of the Reformed Church of America.


She is survived by her son Frank Douglas Bell of Kingston, grandchildren, Kimberly Bell of Louisiana, Douglas Bell of NYC, Tiffany Bell and her fiancée Elliot Douglas of Olivebridge, her great grandchildren, Tyler Hines, Kylie Bell, Parker Bell, and Carson Douglas, her nephew, Donald Brutkowski and his family of CT. As well as her dearest friends, Betty and Bob Shelightner of Port Ewen, Dorothy considered Betty to be a sister of hers.


In addition to her husband and parents, she is predeceased by her brother, George E. Nickel and his wife Gladys Nickel, and her sister in law, Helen Brutkowski.


Entrusted to the care of Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, Port Ewen. A memorial service will take place at the Reformed Church of Port Ewen, 160 Salem St., Port Ewen, on Thursday December 1st at 6:30pm.
