Dottie Gordon

June 13, 1940 — December 15, 2024

Dorothy “Dottie” V. (DeMeo) Gordon, a longtime resident of Kingston, NY, passed away peacefully on December 15, 2024. She was born on June 13, 1940, in Mineola, NY, to the late Michael A. DeMeo and Dorothy M. (Schappert) DeMeo. Dottie graduated from Uniondale High School, Uniondale, NY, in 1958. She began her career as a legal secretary in Rockville Centre NY, and continued in that field after relocating to Troy, NY.

Following her marriage and several employment transfers, Dottie and her family lived in Shaftsbury, VT; Rutland, VT; and Spring Valley, NY, before settling in Kingston, NY, in 1971. She worked as a secretary in the Kingston High School Guidance Office, retiring in 2004 after decades of dedicated service.

Dottie was an active member of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Kingston, serving as treasurer for the Episcopal Church Women and volunteering for the Angel Food East program. She also gave her time as treasurer of the Brigham School PTA, reflecting her commitment to her community and family.

She is survived by her three beloved children and their families: Eric Gordon and his wife Denise of Saratoga Springs, NY, and their daughters, Molly K. Gordon of Portland, ME, and Abigail G. Gordon of Saratoga Springs, NY; Jeffrey Gordon and his wife Deborah of Seneca, SC, and their children, Charles P. Gordon of Austin, TX, and Meghan K. Gordon of Austin, TX; and Jill Gordon Craig and her husband Scott Craig of Hillsboro, OR.

Dottie will be remembered for her kind heart, unwavering devotion to her family, and her commitment to those around her. 

Arrangements entrusted to Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 326 Albany Avenue, Kingston, NY 12401, where family and friends may visit on Thursday, December 19, from 4pm to 7pm. The funeral service will be held at 10am on Friday, December 20, 2024, at St John’s Episcopal Church, 207 Albany Ave Kingston NY.
