Dorothy E. Smedman

Dorothy E. Smedman, formerly of Third Ave., Kingston died Tuesday, October, 27, 2009 at Golden Hill Health Care Center. She was 82. She was born September 16, 1927 in the Bronx, a daughter of the late Christopher and Evelyn Bagnal Hardy. For many years, she waitressed at the former Jake's Grill. She retired as a cashier/waitress at Benedictine Hospital. She was a member of AARP and the pool club at Twin Lakes. Her husband, Wilmot H. Smedman died February 16, 1972. Surviving is her son, Christopher Smedman and his wife, Donna of Kingston; her granddaughter, Laura Smedman. Many nieces and nephews also survive. Her sister, Gladys Smedman died previously. Reposing a the Simpson-Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave., Kingston on Thursday from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 PM. A funeral service will be conducted on Friday, 12:00 PM at the funeral home. The Rev. Charles Stickly will officiate. Interment will follow in Wiltwyck Cemetery.
