Dorothy Barber, formerly of Flatbush Road, Town of Ulster died Monday, August 28, 2006. She was 89.
She was born in New York City on April 29, 1917, a daughter of the late Beriah W. and Margaret Burns Brainerd.
A longtime area resident, Dorothy was a Registered Nurse. She worked for many years as private duty nurse.
Formerly of Clinton Ave., Kingston for many years she lived with her daughter on Flatbush Road, Town of Ulster.
Dorothy was a parishioner of St. Colman's Church and the Altar Rosary Society. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Court Santa Maria. For 20 years Dorothy ran bus trips to the Shrines in Canada.
Her husband Stanley Barber died in 1970. Two sisters Margaret Gioia and Catherine Batterton died previously.
Surviving is her daughter Sharon Barber, Saugerties, her nephew Patrick Hennessey of Rosendale.
There will be no calling hours. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Colman's Church on Tuesday at 12:00 PM. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
