Dorothy Amato Sarkies

Dorothy Amato Sarkies, formerly of Kingston, died Friday, July 4, 2008 at Brethren Village, Lancaster, PA. She was 84. She was born in Kingston on March 24, 1924, a daughter of the late Charles and Anna Nardi Amato. She graduated from the Academy of St. Ursula at Mary Grove and later from Moran's Business School, Kingston and, in 1950, moved to Riverside Dr., New York City. She married Peter Sarkies on November 11, 1950. In 1952 she moved to New Milford, NJ. For over twenty years Mrs. Sarkies was an accountant for Adolph N. Berman, CPA in Montvale, NJ. Her husband Peter G. Sarkies died on June 21, 2005. Surviving are her loving brother, Charles T. Amato of the Bronx and many first cousins. Her funeral will be private.
