Kingston - Dorothy A. DeCicco, of South Washington Avenue, Kingston died Sunday, September 2, 2012 at Woodland Pond at New Paltz, surrounded by her nephew Ron, his wife Nancy and Dorothy's Pastor James Rowe. She was 95.
A native and lifelong Kingston resident, she was a daughter of the late Frederick and Nancy Bonds Smith, Sr. She married Charles DeCicco on September 12, 1948.
Over the years Dorothy worked at area dress factories, Hercules and then at IBM, Kingston. A member of Redeemer Evangelical Lutheran Church, Dorothy was a former member of VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Beloved wife of the late Charles DeCicco who died September 3, 2001; sister of the late Violet Fatum, Abram Smith and Frederick Smith, Jr.; loving aunt of Ron and Nancy Smith of Ulster Park, Estelle Fatum King of Frederick, MD and the late Eugene Robert Smith, her godson. Several other nieces and nephews, and many grand nieces and grand nephews also survive.
Reposing at the Simpson Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave. on Friday from 2:00 6:00 PM. The funeral procession will form on Saturday at 11:00 am from the funeral home. A Service of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Wurts St., Kingston. Pastor James Rowe will officiate. Interment will follow in Montrepose Cemetery.
